Ukiyo Handroll, a popular restaurant in Covent Garden, urgently contacted London Window & Door Repairs when their main entrance door suddenly stopped working. The top hinge had completely broken off which resulted in the door losing its proper alignment and therefore it was both impossible to close and lock the door.
Since the restaurant was situated in a very busy area and was open daily, the situation posed a risk of break, in almost immediately if not resolved quickly. Hence, it was necessary to respond quickly and professionally in order to secure the premises and enable the business to continue to operate safely.
The owner of Ukiyo Handroll spotted the issue as the door was no longer fitting properly into the frame and then he called us immediately. The top hinge had given way therefore the other hinges were overloaded, and the door was twisted out of its frame. The result was that the locking system could not be used anymore.

On, site, the engineer first had to support and realign the door before he could start the repair.
What the engineer did:
1. He safely realigned the entrance door.
2. A new top hinge was supplied and securely fitted.
3. He checked the other hinges to see if they showed any signs of wear or stress.
4. Then, the door was adjusted both for correct positioning and for smooth movement.
5. Finally, the locking mechanism was tested to confirm that it was fully functional and secure.
As they worked quickly, any disruption to the restaurants operations was kept to a minimum.
